The Photo museum; Fotomuseet Sundsvall, in Sundsvall, Sweden emerged out of the needs of the photographic, art and journalistic educations systems in the Mid Sweden region. The region is historically a heavy industrial region.

From 2002 the region has Sweden's only photojournalist education. Fotomuseet Sundsvall has 300 m2 exhibition premises. More than 50 exhibitions have been at display. Mary Ellen Mark, Hasse Persson, Josef Koudelka, Max Penson, Alexander Rodchenko, Paolo Pellegrin and others.

Fotomuseet Sundsvall has produced 20 own exhibitions. Among them The Search For Ali Boulala by Lisa Selin, 3-3 Sweden/Finland, Quality Made, Made in Sweden photographs by Emil Heilborn. Besides the Emil Heilborn exhibition was awarded to the best project during the Moscow Photo Festival 2004. Many of our exhibitions have been on international tours.

Fotomuseet Sundsvall's objective is to show documentary and communicative.
